Enforcing these laws also results in a crippling backlog at the state agency tasked with analyzing forensic evidence in all criminal cases, including violent crimes. I support expanding Medicaid coverage under the ACA. A recent study showed that if Alabama expanded Medicaid today and took advantage of the incentives to expand coverage included in the recent federal COVID Relief Bill, it would save the State approximately one billion dollars over the next five years.
