Sarah recognizes that for too long, communities of color in Wisconsin have been disparately impacted by everything from lead laterals in Milwaukee to pollutants in tribal fishing waters to Black maternal mortality rates to incarceration rates and much more. Racial inequities cut across almost every aspect of Wisconsin life, and that’s simply unacceptable. With Milwaukee as one of the most racially segregated cities in the country, Sarah knows we need to provide more resources, training, and community partnerships to close the racial gap in housing, education, and environmental justice. Learn more
Sarah believes that to reduce crime and keep our communities safe, we must fund police departments and social services – providing them with the resources they need for investing in officer training, hiring social workers, building wrap-around services, and strengthening community violence interventions. Wisconsinites deserve to feel safe in their homes and neighborhoods, and they deserve a police force that works for them. Learn more
Sarah will work to end mandatory minimum sentences for nonviolent drug offenses, fight to pass the Equal Act, and support retroactive decriminalization and expungement of offenses stemming from drugs that have since been legalized. Sarah also supports the legalization of marijuana. Learn more

Wisconsinites are working too hard for Washington politicians to continue to let them down by looking out for the wealthy and special interests at the expense of working families. Learn more
Sarah will work to preserve our Great Lakes, protect our environment and natural resources, and ensure public lands stay in public hands so that future generations can continue to enjoy Wisconsin’s natural beauty. Learn more
Communities of color, and low-income and Indigenous communities have been disproportionately impacted by Washington’s inaction on this urgent threat — from Milwaukee families struggling with lead laterals, to southwest Wisconsinites facing poisonous wells, and so many more. And she won’t stop there. Learn more

Learn more
We must make it easier to vote — especially for working people, people of color, the elderly and disabled, LGBTQ+ voters, and young voters. She will fight to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to restore voting protections under the original Voting Rights Act (VRA), as well as the Freedom to Vote Act which would make Election Day a national holiday, provide for no excuse vote by mail, and crack down on partisan gerrymandering and purging voters from the rolls. Learn more
Abolishing the filibuster is a top priority for Sarah. Sarah believes that there is simply too much at stake — from addressing climate change to affordable prescription drugs — to continue to allow the filibuster to prevent Congress from passing legislation that Americans desperately need. Learn more

Here in Wisconsin, we have already seen cities like Madison, Milwaukee, and Sarah’s hometown of Eau Claire ban the incredibly abusive and harmful practice of conversion therapy. In the Senate, Sarah will co-sponsor the Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act to ban conversion therapy nationwide. Learn more
Sarah believes mental health care is a right, and it must be a priority. But getting treatment and prevention simply isn’t an option for far too many of our communities. A lack of federal funding and a shortage of mental health care providers have made it difficult for people to get the help they need. Now, more than ever, Wisconsinites need a lifeline, and Sarah is fighting to make sure they get one. Learn more

Learn more
