Create backup copies of voter registration lists – should there be an attack on our voter registration systems, we should have a backup so that no one is turned away on election day. Increase use of native and drought tolerant landscaping, permeable walkways and parking areas and grey-water re-use. I support legislation to grant authority to county governments to implement common sense land use rules and monitoring of aggregate plants at a local level. Learn more
Create a public education campaign through the Department of Public Safety to raise awareness around safe gun storage and suicide prevention. Work to create lethal violence protective orders that would allow courts to temporarily prohibit firearm possession for people at high risk of harming themselves or others. Support a comprehensive universal background check including: military crime data, terrorist watch lists, people charged with domestic and intimate partner violence, and people with a history of violent mental illness.
