Get StartedWe need to crack down on the people who are fueling and profiting from this crisis, at all levels, including on the street as well as in the pharmaceutical boardrooms. We need to eliminate perceived governmental incentives for Medicare reimbursement based on pain measures in ALL settings of care. We need to support national as well as local commercial and non-profit efforts to promote both physical and mental health and wellness programs that seek and provide alternative approaches to pain management, overall wellness, and care and we need to listen to our researchers and help uncover and define additional opportunities to save lives. The current status of the college loan industry is akin to the over-inflated 2008 housing loan industry, it is a bubble ripe to burst. The federal government continues to subsidize loans and the push for increased PELL Grant amounts is increasing the influx of money into a broken system. College graduates are in debt and ‘upside down’ on their life mortgages, before they have even had the opportunity to get their lives started. Government is paying more toward education than it ever has, and it is doing nothing but driving the cost up exponentially. Administrative cost and cost of student amenities are what we are now paying for, far more than the education itself. Learn more
I will go to Washington D.C. and work in support of the implementation of term limits. I firmly believe however, that law or no law, there is no excuse for not doing what is RIGHT. There was no law limiting George Washington to just two presidential terms, but he knew what was OBVIOUSLY best for the nation. At no time during the establishment of our country were politics meant to be a career choice. We were to be represented by citizen statesmen. They were to sacrifice themselves for the common good, serve their country, then return home to their work. Learn more
I favor a system that will force insurance companies to compete for their customers with lower costs and higher-quality service. I believe that the federal government should incentivize each state to develop and implement individualized plans that fit their individual needs. I believe in a healthcare system that allows people to choose their doctors, does not block pre-existing conditions for people that were previously insured, and allows small businesses and voluntary associations to join together to get the same insurance discounts as large corporations. We need to expand the use of health savings accounts, allow for insurance purchases across state lines, and give individuals tax deductions or credits so they can buy insurance that fits their needs rather than the federal government dictating their coverage. We also need to help ensure that providers receive equal pay for equal work and that we are not promoting a system that exploits the promotion of gaming systems for financial gain. Learn more
I believe that the majority of us want a fair and humane immigration policy based on enforcement of established laws. One that takes in to account a finite amount of resources and one that clearly delineates and enforces the differences between what is legal vs illegal. Unfortunately, at this time, it is very easy to come to America illegally, and very hard and extremely expensive to come to America legally. This needs to be changed. Learn more
If there is one thing we should ALL agree on it’s that high-quality infrastructure is essential to safety, security, as well as economic growth. We need to ensure soundness of our roads, bridges, rails, locks, and dams. We need a secure, reliable electric grid that cannot fail, and we need functioning water treatment systems that keep storm water runoff out of our streets and guarantee safe drinking water. I believe that we need to continue to work and protect Social Security and Medicare and ensure that our government keeps the promises that it has made to current retirees and those planning to retire. Unfortunately, Social Security has become another casualty of our broken system, affecting those Americans who need it most. In order to ensure the continued solvency and health of these entitlements, much work needs to be done. Learn more
